Broadly, following are the functions of the Training and Omanisation Department:
1. To identify the training priorities of the public and private sectors by coordinating and consulting with
those concerned in these sectors.
2. To create contacts and coordination with the private colleges and institutes capable of providing appropriate training for the national cadre, to keep records, information and data of these colleges and institutes and to cooperate with them according to the needs of the training sector.
3. To provide training programmes for the national
cadre that are not available with the private colleges and institutes.
4. To organize seminars and workshops having relation to training, Omanisation and human resource development by co-ordinating with the concerned entities within and outside OCCI.
5. To facilitate participation of the OCCI staff in training courses within and outside Oman by coordinating with colleges, institutes and training organizations.

6. To identify and deal with problems being faced by the Omani private sector in the training and Omanisation fields, by coordinating with the OCCI Training and Omanisation Committee.
7. To circulate various training programmes, courses, seminars and other training related events among the private sector and to coordinate participation in those events as and when necessary.
8. To manage the OCCI Training Center and its various equipment.
