Prerogatives of the Oil and Gas Committee 

• To propose policies and programmes for improving training and Omanisation in the Oil and Gas sectors to serve the development requirement. 
• To lay down views on improving the private sector to provide more effective service. 
• To encourage taking up employment in the oil and gas sector and to coordinate with training and educational authorities to train Omani cadre. 
• To cast light on the problems related to oil and gas production and to study these topics and submit proposals on them. 
• To study Oman's foreign trade. 
• To study its various aspects and to review the laws and regulations which relate to the oil and gas sectors. 
• To promote the setting up of oil-sector industries. 
• To form sub-committees or working teams under the chairmanship of one of the committee members to study various problems being faced by oil and gas sectors separately. 
• To suggest holding of seminars and lectures on the oil and gas sectors to highlight the roles of these sectors. 
• To have effective participation by the committee members in the Chamber's activities and to contribute in preparing the studies and research papers that would serve the oil and gas sectors. 
• To discuss and express views and opinions on the laws issued on oil and gas sectors. 
• To raise the quality level of input and to meet the challenges faced by the oil and gas industry, and to act upon improving this sector. 
• To organize oil and gas exhibitions with the aim of stimulating these sectors and contributing to boosting the national income. 
• To study all matters related to the oil and gas sectors that are referred to the Chamber and to submit suggestions on them. 
• To provide date, statistics, reports and research papers to those working in the oil and gas sectors. 
• To represent Oman in local, regional, Arab and international conferences and seminars held on oil and gas in coordination with OCCI and other concerned entities. 
• To study the challenges faced by the oil and gas industry in Oman, such as the world market, gas reserves, technology and human resource development. 
• To study the marketing policies at the international level and to support the national development. 
• To conduct studies necessary to preserve the environment. 
• To conduct necessary economic studies of any projects related to exploiting the oil and gas reserves in Oman.
