Prerogatives of the Industry and Specifications Committee

To study the legislation and rules laid down by the state and also the plans and policies related to organizing the industry sector and industrial projects to be implemented and to propose views and recommendations.
To discuss the issues and problems referred to the Committee by industries including issues related to the specifications and quality control and to advise suitable solutions for them.
To submit proposals and recommendations aimed at promoting and protecting the industry and to increase the quality of the national products.
To study and discuss topics and complaints submitted by member industrialists and all those related to the draft laws on industry and specifications.
To raise recommendations and views to the concerned authorities in coordination with the concerned ministries.
To make field visits to industrial projects to identify their problems, if necessary.
To find ways for obtaining more subsidies for industrial projects, boosting competitiveness of the national products and their exports, protecting the joint interests of the industry sector and creating cooperation among them.
To represent Oman in industry related seminars and conferences held locally and abroad and to participate in international trade and industrial fairs in coordination with the Chamber and other concerned entities.
To hold seminars and meetings between the industrialists and those concerned with industry and specifications with the view to improve the sector and to boost the quality of its products.
To educate the public at large to encourage them to buy shares of industrial projects and to urge industrialists to abide by the specifications, both on imported and exported products.
To hold meetings with foreign industrial sectors to have know-how of the modern technical methods and to eliminate problems and difficulties of the local companies.
