Department
The OCCI Legal Department provides the following services:
Legal Consultations
1. Providing legal opinion and assistance for
OCCI officials for implementing and applying the provisions of the
Royal Decrees and laws pertaining to the economy and the general provisions of OCCI and its internal
regulations, personnel regulations and the Specialized
Committees regulation.
2. To express legal opinions and review various agreements,
MoUs and contracts signed by OCCI with other parties.
3. To provide legal opinion and consultation to private companies on all economic fields, in accordance with the prevailing laws.
4. To prepare viewpoints of the private sector on various topics, particularly on the problems faced by the private sector in applying the
various commercial laws, and to raise them to the government departments concerned.
5. To reply to legal queries received from Arab and foreign chambers of commerce, regional and international economic organizations and agencies on various laws and regulations governing the economy in Oman. These include formation of companies, investment of foreign capital and commercial agencies.
6. To study the drafts of the laws and regulations having relation to economy and that are referred to OCCI by the
various government departments, and to express legal opinions on them.
