Article-11: An exhibition cannot be repeated for the same purpose for more than two times in one year, except for those held at the Oman International Exhibition Center. Foreign companies shall not be allowed to participate in exhibitions that sell their exhibited products, for more than two times in a year.
Article-12: The Director General of Exhibitions shall determine the exhibitions that shall be allowed to sell their exhibits. The licensee shall display the price on all exhibits and shall circulate a brochure containing general information on Oman covering all economic, tourist and social aspects, in addition to a brief on the important prevailing commercial and industrial laws.
Article-13: The licensee shall meet necessary expenses related to the following: 1. Preparation of a publicity campaign for the exhibition before and during the exhibition, whereby the publicity campaign shall be intensified during the exhibition days through various information media. 2. Provision of security personnel throughout the exhibition period in coordination with the concerned authorities of the Royal Oman Police. 3. Obtaining necessary licenses from the concerned authorities for preparing and serving food and beverages at the exhibition. 4. Insurance against all third party damages, losses, injuries, death, fire and other risks and workmen compensation insurance. The insurance policy shall be kept throughout the exhibition period. 5. Managing and operating the exhibition. 6. Giving correct details on the size and type of the exhibition, participation conditions and the stall rates. The concerned authority at the directorate General of Commerce shall be provided with all these data for its approval before circulating them among the potential participants. 7. Payment of taxes and other legal charges.
Article-14: The licensee shall not be allowed to collect any money from the public as entrance fee.
Article-15: The countries and regional or international organizations that have political and economic relations with Oman may hold exhibitions or trade weeks in Oman through one of the licensed exhibition organizer pursuant to the provisions of this regulation.
Article-16: Cultural, social or art exhibitions shall not be allowed without obtaining the permission from the concerned authorities as shown below: 1. For Art Exhibitions of paintings, photographs, sculpture, Arabic calligraphy, songs, drams, folklore arts - from the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture. 2. For Books Exhibition - from the Ministry of Information. 3. For official participations from foreign countries - From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Exempted from this shall be the exhibitions that are held by the official entities in Oman as per bilateral agreements signed with other countries and regional or international organizations, provided that they do not sell the exhibited products.
Article-17: The licensee shall submit a report to the concerned authority at the Directorate General of Commerce within two weeks from the closing of the exhibition in the form prepared for that purpose.
Article-18: The licensee shall not be allowed to exhibit any posters, advertisements or any publicity materials offending the local traditions and customs. All publicity materials, publications and bulletins belonging to foreign participants shall be submitted to the concerned authorities in Oman.
Article-19: The license for holding gold jewelry and precious stones exhibitions shall be issued only to companies that are licensed to trade in these materials, under the following conditions: 1. A list of names, types, carats of the gold jewelry and other precious metals and stones to be exhibited shall be submitted. 2. The gold jewelry and precious stones shall be examined and approved by the Directorate General of Specifications and Measurements. 3. The display label shall include the details specified by the Directorate General of Specifications and Measurements Chapter Three Fees and Fines
Article-20: License fee for holding exhibitions shall be as follows: For Exhibitions that sell the exhibits: 1. RO 50 (Fifty) if the exhibition area was not exceeding 100
sq.m. 2. RO 100 (One Hundred) if the exhibition area was not exceeding 500
sq.m. 3. RO 200 (Two Hundred) if the exhibition area was more than 500 sq.m For Exhibitions that don't sell the exhibits: 1. RO 25 (Twenty-five) if the exhibition area was not exceeding 500
sq.m. 2. RO 50 (Fifty) if the exhibition area was more than 500 sq.m For Cultural, social or art exhibitions: RO 5 (Five).
Article-21: The concerned authority at the Directorate General of Commerce shall monitor the implementation of the provisions of this regulation and to record violations. The said authority shall have the right to close down the exhibition and refer the matter immediately to the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Commerce and Industry, who, based on the proposal of the Director General of Commerce, shall decided whether to re-open the exhibition or to withdraw its license. The decision may include disallowing the violator from holding another exhibition next year. The violator shall have the right to appeal against this decision to the Minister of Commerce and Industry within 15 days from receipt of the decision and the Minister's decision in this regard shall be final.
