Opening hours

Shop opening hours in Oman vary. Generally shops open every morning from about 08.00 to 13.00, and again from about 16.30 to 21.00 in the evening. However, these hours can vary from shop to shop. Some of the smaller shops in Ruwi in the Capital Area .Some supermarkets/food stores may stay open until 22.00 or later in the evening. Shops generally keep the same opening hours during the Thursday weekend day, but may not open in the morning on the Friday weekend day.

Nowadays some shopping malls (i.e. Shatti Al Qurum, Sultan Centre) open all day from 8.00 to 21.00. Shell Select shops  and Al Maha and Souq shops in the Capital Area and Sur generally stay open for 24 hours.
