Economic Research:  
The Economic Research Department of OCCI carries out economic research and studies on various economic activities, inside and outside the country. It also prepares economic and technical feasibility studies and gathers information on investment opportunities available in the local market, export and import volumes of various commodities, production accessories and raw material. The department also re-evaluates economic feasibility studies for projects that are being set up. OCCI offers a number of economic consultations to local and foreign investors on Oman's economic scenario, incentives given to the businessmen and the prominent and successful investment areas. 

Public Relations:  
The Public Relations Department of the Chamber facilitates the missions of both incoming and outgoing trade delegations, by arranging meetings with officials and businessmen and arranging visits to economic sites within the country as well as investment opportunities abroad, besides providing necessary information and statistics to delegates. The department also participates in preparing for trade exhibitions being held in Oman. It also prepares for seminars, lectures and conferences in which the Chamber participates, economic and commercial information sought by local and overseas businessmen and companies are provided in time and business inquires are promptly attended to. 

As part of disseminating information to all sections of Oman's private sector, the Information and Publications department provides the local, regional and international media with the news of the activities of the Chamber's Board of Directors, covers the meetings of the Specialised Committees and visits of various visiting trade delegations and prepares media reports with the aim of stimulating the country's economic activity. Another function of the department is to publish the Chamber's magazine Al Ghorfa and to supervise other publications brought out by the Chamber from time to time. 

Legal Affairs:
OCCI provides legal consultations for trade transactions and tries to solve commercial disputes among local and foreign companies amicably and satisfactorily. The Chamber also prepares and presents the private sector's viewpoints to the Government bodies concerned, and expresses opinions on contracts, besides replying to inquires on Oman's prevailing laws and regulations related to commerce and economic matters. 

Information Centre:
The Information Centre provides information, date and statistics related Omani companies, foreign trade including export and import statistics, laws and regulations and internet facilities, to businessmen and it replies to their queries. OCCI has a well-stocked library containing valuable and essential economic and business information covering a very wide spectrum. There are several periodicals, newspapers, books and bulletins, besides hundreds of trade and industrial directories and catalogues of international companies, training institutes and universities. The library's acquisition also includes internet and several video-cassettes on economic and tourist information on Oman and investment and industrial information on some foreign countries. The library is open from 7.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on Saturdays through Wednesdays and from 7.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Thursdays. 

Registration and Legalisation:
The Registration and Legalisation department at the OCCI's Head Office and the branches in various regions of the country, facilitate registration and renewal of memberships. They also legalise all types of business documents including the certificates of origins, commercial agencies and authorisations. 

The Specialised Committees:
The Specialised Committees department prepares for the meetings of the Specialised Committees, sends out invitations to the members of the committees to attend the meetings, prepares the agenda of the meetings in consultation with the committee chairmen, records the minutes of the meeting and circulate them among the members. The department also disseminates information on trade fairs being held in Oman and outside and prepares for the trade exhibitions in which the Chamber participates.

Training & Omanisation:
Omanisation has become an inevitable strategic choice, given the fact that the Omani citizens have the right to serve their own country. However, this will not be possible unless they are properly educated and trained to make them capable of taking up all kinds of jobs, particularly under the changing scenarios of the international economy. Within this framework, OCCI has done its utmost. 

It has set up a department under the name of Training and Omanisation, to carry out, exclusively, the task of helping the private sector to identify their training needs and to find the sources of such training modules, and to contribute effectively to the government’s Omanisation efforts, by providing training programmes that are not available in the private sector. The department also helps to diagnose various impediments blocking the progress of Omanisation and coordinates with the concerned entities to find solutions for them.
